I have been trying to make sure that during this month I really focus on making my life centered on Christ. One of my favorite scriptures is found in the Book of Mormon:
I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul
As I am sure most of you are aware, it seems that lately there has been so much happening that causes anxiety, fear, sadness, worry etc. While I would never endorse ignorance of world events, I will always recommend looking to Christ for peace. He loves each of us purely and completely and there is a deep sense of peace that can permeate your life the more fully you understand that. Any doubt or discouragement or fear I feel can usually be diminished when I have faith in the Savior. He loves me. He knows me. Through His Atonement, I can be the best version of myself and live a beautiful life.
I have been trying to be better about "ponderizing" scriptures and wanted to make sure my scriptures related to the Savior this month. This week I chose this scripture -
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
I think the reason this scripture in particular resonated with me is because of how heavy it begins. There is nothing remotely happy or upbeat about the first part of these verses. However, for me, the whole tone changes with the last six words, "with his stripes we are healed." There is such hope and promise in those words. It makes the expression of His love for each of us through the Atonement even more beautiful against the backdrop of what He endured.
My wish is that we all find our lives more enriched and blessed through faith in Jesus Christ. I know that He lives and I know that He loves each one of us. I feel so grateful for the relationship I have with Him. I look forward to a lifetime and existence of getting to know Him better and hopefully helping others to do the same.
Love you too much -
